The Hamilton Port Authority (HPA) will be implementing electric gate activation, via proximity card readers at port entrance points whereby gates will be open between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm, 7 days per week and closed from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am, 7 days per week. When gates are closed, access is granted via use of HPA issued proximity card and reader device located at each gate. In the longer term, HPA envisions a gates-closed scenario due to increasing regulations for marine security.
